A partner at Odelson & Sterk, Ltd., Robert Hall concentrates his practice in the areas of education law, regulatory matters, and government law. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Accounting and a double major in Philosophy, Bob earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Illinois, where he was an editor of the University of Illinois Law Review. He is a member of the Illinois Council of School Attorneys.
After beginning his career handling complex litigation matters in the federal and state courts, Bob served in several management positions in the Law Department of the Chicago Board of Education. In his capacities as Acting General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel, he supervised more than forty attorneys in eight different practice areas and had the esteemed responsibility of overseeing the work of outside counsel. Bob counseled the Board of Education regarding all legal issues impacting the public schools, in addition to negotiating major contracts.
Since returning to the practice of law in the private sector, he has continued to represent clients in the education arena, government entities, and commercial enterprises. He serves as general counsel for both school districts and charter schools. Bob represented the only charter high school authorized by the Illinois State Board of Education to operate in Chicago’s suburbs.
